I hit it off with Dana & JD as soon as they described their Telluride wedding as “Chalet Chic” – how elegant and adorable is that? Their sweet, mountain wedding vibe was such a joy to design for – from their hand lettered and illustrated invitation suite to their soft, watercolor day of decor!
We started designing for Dana & JD’s big day with their emerald green and blush invitation suite. Dana wanted to keep the overall style of their stationery elegant, but with fun touches to give it a little more personality. To capture this tone we kept to a minimalistic color palette but incorporated lots of lively illustration and hand lettering components. In addition to their adorable wreath monogram, my favorite part of their invitation suite was the hand-illustrated map of Telluride that included all the venues for their mountain wedding weekend!
For their wedding décor, we carried many of the elements from their stationery suite into the day of designs. Dana & JD’s acrylic wedding welcome sign, for example, incorporated their wreath monogram and green garlands. For their traditional wedding ceremony programs, we repurposed the illustration of the beautiful St Patrick’s Catholic Church from their map.
Guests were greeted at their Gorrono Ranch reception by a printed seating chart with tables named for the lovely San Juan peaks in view from the venue. We kept the table setting paper goods soft and romantic with watercolor washes; the emerald menus again incorporating hand-lettering and delicate gold calligraphy adorning blush place cards.
I think Dana & JD did a beautiful job pulling off their “Chalet Chic” theme in a way that was elegant, while still remaining so very warm and personal to them both. Congratulations again to the oh so sweet Mr. and Mrs. Higginbotham!

My grandson, J.D., and brand new granddaughter-in-law, Dana, are treasures and these photos and touching, loving items are all indications of their depth of family love, family respect, and dedication in carrying on with a lifelong union. God bless them both and I love them so much.
