This is it. My baby of a boho wedding shoot that I daydreamed up for months and put my everything into was finally published on Green Wedding Shoes this week!!! My excitement simply cannot be contained!!! I’m dead. Special thanks to Cassie Rosch Photography for bringing her talented eye to this collaboration and Lauren from Hourglass Productions for turning my vision into a reality! Love you ladies!!!
This inspiration shoot captures the youthful, free spirit that epitomizes summer in a rich and unexpected way. Part bohemian and part festival glamping, this woodsy collaboration came to life out a desire to showcase all the beautiful potential of a darker boho wedding palette and untraditional decor elements such as antlers and hides. To compliment this palette we set this shoot in a forested area. This backdrop sets the stage for a laid back but carefully curated celebration of the beautiful, untamed nature of love.
The decor was crucial in achieving this vision and we were lucky to work with Eclectic Hive, which (as their name suggests) has a diverse assortment of furniture and textiles. As the longest day of the year, the summer solstice has long been associated with the positive, radiating energy of joy and love. To help create this atmosphere we knew we had to build a space for people to celebrate and engage with one another. The real show-stopper is undoubtedly the inviting tipi lounge with layers of varying textures and lush florals cascading down from above, designed by the uber creative Lale Florals.
A low table-top surrounded by more hides, boho rugs, and an eclectic mix of pillows add to the youthful, free-spirited vibe. The table design is edgy but charming; filled with rich black juxtaposed with more vibrant floral pieces and accented by antlers, small bits of leather, and gold dipped, black feathers. To tie into this look, I hand crafted a one-of-a-kind, delicate feather curtain that was used as a ceremony backdrop. Together these moody and boho wedding pieces come together for some unexpected but fiercely romantic wedding inspiration.
The stationery was so much fun to design! I combined rich blacks with the delicate nature of watercolor and I may be biased by I think the end result is something fun and unexpected, but still really elegant.
Weddings should be an expression of each couple and the love they share. If that love is wild and deep then your big day should reflect that. Don’t be afraid to stray from the ordinary for a dark, boho wedding celebration of your own!
